Ceafie McKInley Leagan Junior

Blacksburg - Ceafie McKInley Leagan Junior, also known as Jr., 89, born April 13, 1935, passed away peacefully April 10, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. Ceafie is preceded in death by his late wife, Bobby Jean Leagan, a daughter, Teresa Kay Harward, granddaughter, Wendy Leagon, and multiple siblings.

Jr. was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. He had a heart as big as they come, always ready to help someone in need, and he never hesitated to offer his advice--whether you asked for it or not. And more often than not, he was right.

Jr. loved his family with everything he had. And when he became a grandpa--well, that just brought out a whole new kind of joy in him. He called them his babies, and he couldn't wait to see them. It was their little tradition--he'd hand them a dollar bill and then just smile as they lit up, trying to wad it up and shove it into their pockets. He lived for those little moments.

He also had a passion for working on cars. That was something deep in his bones. He could fix just about anything. And even in the end, when he couldn't get out of bed, he was still "under the hood" in his own way--lying there, telling us what parts to use, walking us through what to do. That was Jr.--never quitting, never giving up, always sharing what he knew.

He loved to travel, to take trips and see the world. But he also found so much joy in the simple things--being in nature, feeding the birds in the mornings at McDonald's, and just taking time to enjoy the world around him.

April 13th marks both the beginning and end of Jr.'s journey in this world, but his spirit will continue to live on in a truly beautiful way. The idea that he's finally reunited with his family, celebrating without limits, brings a kind of peace and even joy in the midst of sorrow.

Jr. also loved to read. It was one of his quiet joys. But more than anything, he especially loved reading his Bible. It was a part of his daily life, a source of strength and peace for him, and a reminder of the deep faith he carried with him. Jr. had a spirit that didn't quit. Life threw him plenty of challenges, but he kept going. He showed us what it means to be strong, to be kind, and to love deeply.

He was loved by so many, and he will be missed more than words can say. But I hope we all carry a piece of him with us--from the advice he gave, the stories he told, the example he set.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 13th, 2025, from 2:30-3:30 pm at Hopewell Baptist Church, 511 Old Chester Road, Blacksburg, SC.
