Cecil "David" Clark, Jr.

Cecil "David" Clark, Jr., 60, of Forest City, North Carolina, passed away on May 21, 2024.

David was born on December 17, 1963, to Cecil & Judy Clark in Rutherford County, NC. David graduated from Chase High School in 1982.

David was predeceased by his father, Cecil Clark, in 2016. He is survived by his mother, Judy Wheeler Clark of Forest City, sons Landon Clark and wife Ashley of Thompsons Station, TN, and Brandon Rothrock and wife Haley of Ellenboro, NC, and sister Cynthia Clark Robbins and husband George of Forest City, NC. He is also survived by grandchildren Talulabelle and Mary Myers Clark, Addison and Sullivan Rothrock, and special nephew Colton Robbins. Last but not least, he is survived by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and a host of close friends.

Before high school graduation, David started working as a loom fixer at Cone Mills Cliffside. He worked there in various positions for 25 years until 2005. In the 1990s, he attended farrier school at Isothermal Community College and also worked as a farrier until 2006. David loved to work, and his impeccable work ethic was a defining characteristic of his life. In addition to loving work, David also loved deer hunting, riding horses, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was also a dedicated member of Henrietta First Baptist Church.

Most of all, David loved people. He was a dedicated father to his sons Landon and Brandon and took great joy in being present in their lives. He never missed an opportunity to use the words "I love you." His many friendships were equally important to him, as evidenced by his quickness to call, never waiting for others to call him.

Services include receiving of friends at Harrelson Funeral Home on Thursday, May 23rd from 6pm-8pm and funeral at Henrietta First Baptist Church on Friday, May 24th at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Henrietta First Baptist Church, Post Office Box 265, Henrietta, NC 28076.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
