Charles Dennis Wilson

Charles Dennis Wilson, lovingly known to all as Dennis, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Shelby, North Carolina, on January 18, 2025.

Born on April 25, 1978, to Charles and Betty Wilson, he was a beacon of light and joy to his family and friends throughout his 46 years.

Dennis was a cherished brother to April Bayley and her husband Charles. He was an adored uncle to his three nephews, Tyler, Nathan, and Daniel Bayley, who will remember him for his creative storytelling and the generous spirit he carried with him in all aspects of his life. Dennis had an infectious laugh and a friendly demeanor that made everyone he met feel like an old friend.

A lifelong resident of Shelby, Dennis dedicated over 25 years of service to his community through his work at Ingles Grocery Store. His commitment to his job was matched only by his passion for singing gospel music. Dennis found joy and solace in traveling and singing with his gospel group, "Living By Faith," sharing his faith through music across the region. His voice was not only a source of entertainment but an inspiration to those who had the pleasure of hearing him sing.

Dennis educational journey was intertwined with his career, as he began his work at Ingles Grocery Store shortly after completing his schooling. His work ethic, combined with his creative and friendly nature, made him a beloved figure among both colleagues and customers alike. He approached his work with the same generosity and dedication that he brought to every other aspect of his life.

A service to celebrate Dennis's life will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Rev. Ronald Roberts, a testament to Dennis's deep faith and commitment to his church community. Following the service, Dennis will be laid to rest in the Casar Baptist Church Cemetery, where he will be surrounded by the town and the people he so dearly loved.

The family will receive friends and those whose lives Dennis touched on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. This visitation will be a time for sharing memories and celebrating the life of a man who was the epitome of creativity, friendliness, and generosity.

Dennis's legacy is one of kindness, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to his faith and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of his family, friends, and all the lives he touched. His melody will live on, a harmonious echo of a life well-lived and a man well-loved.
