The Lord welcomed his son, Christopher "Robin" Blanton, 63 years old, of Fallston, home on Monday, May 20, 2024.
Robin was born in Cleveland County on November 23, 1960. He was the son of the late William E. Blanton and Jean Wright Blanton of Fallston.
Robin was a devoted christian, husband, father and brother. He loved being outdoors; hunting, fishing and taking trips to the beach. Robin had recently retired from Duke Energy, where he took pride in his work and was looking forward to many adventures and managing his rental properties. Robin was a member of Christ Alive Church in Newton.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sherry Allen Blanton; two daughters, Sarah-Jane Fitch and her partner Rachid Ait Amrou and Emily Fitch; brother, Bill Dunaway and wife, Trudy; three sisters, Donna McKinney, Amy Jones and husband, Roy Jones, Tina Rachels and husband, Lem; brother-in-law, Ron McKinney. Robin is also survived by his aunt LaVerne Wright of Fallston, Hannah Bishop whom he loved as a daughter; beloved pet, AbbyGayle and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 12pm-1pm with a memorial service to follow at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
