Danny Joe Hawkins, 76, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on October 09, 2024 at his home.

He was born in Gaston County, NC, son of the late Warren Hawkins and Pauline Burgan Hawkins and was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Lowery and a sister, Nancy Thomas. Danny Joe loved his country and faithfully served her in the US Army. He was always very proud to be a Vietnam veteran and humbled when a stranger would thank him for his service. Danny Joe worked as a carpenter for most of his life. He was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and spoke frequently about his relationship with his Savior. Danny Joe was very artistic and a talented painter. He enjoyed completing puzzles and making people laugh. Danny Joe always found humor in every situation. He also loved music and was a talented drummer, having played many years in church. He was a wonderful father, loving grandfather to 2 generations of grandchildren and loyal friend to many.
