Danny Ray Parker, 76, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte.

Danny was born on September 25, 1946 in Alexander County, NC a son of the late Deward W. Parker and Verna Lee Ingram Parker. He was retired after 33 years of service with Duke Power. Danny was a member of Crouse United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Parker; a sister Wanda Parker Baucom and a brother, Johnny Parker.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Glinda Leatherman Parker of the home; a step-daughter, Melissa Thompson of Shelby; a step-son Michael Maiwald and wife Rebecca of Dallas; six grandchildren Cameron Maiwald, Tyler Maiwald, Amber Maiwald (John Lawing), Dalton Hively (Amanda), Kaitlyn Hively and Kylie Reynolds; five great grandchildren, Derik, Gavin, Emma, Danny and Nevaeh. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nathan Yoder officiating.

Burial will be private.
