David Joel Shaffer, Sr., 65, of Beam Street, Fallston, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at home.

Born in Cleveland County, on September 29, 1958, he was a son of Mary Paxton Shaffer, Fallston and the late Charles Ronald Shaffer. David truly loved rabbit hunting and showing of his rabbit dogs at shows and hunting events.

In addition to his father he is preceded in death by a grandson.

In addition to his mother he is survived by a son, Joel Shaffer and wife, Nicole of Boiling Springs; daughter, Jamie Hastings and husband, Dustin of Lincolnton; four brothers, Robbie Shaffer and wife Jina, Mike Shaffer and wife Sandy, all of Fallston, Ronald Shaffer and fiancée, Gina Willis of Belwood, and Richie Shaffer and wife Becky of Maiden; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 form 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
