Donna Hamrick Ruppe, 61, of Shelby, NC, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024, surrounded by family.

Donna was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and loved by all who knew her.

Donna is preceded in death by parents Bud Hamrick and Martha Brindle (husband Frank) as well as many other loved ones.

Left to cherish her legacy is her devoted husband of 44 years, James David Ruppe Sr., and her children, Jennifer Ruppe Ledbetter (husband Wayne), James David Ruppe Jr. (wife Lindsay), and Haley Morgan Ruppe. Donna was the most amazing maw-maw to 5 grand-boys: Matthew, Brayden, Gavin Ledbetter, Malachi and Jeremiah Ruppe. She also leaves behind her siblings, Ronnie Hamrick, Tommy Hamrick (wife Missy), and Crystal Brindle, as well as many nieces and nephews. Donna also leaves behind her beloved English bulldog Diesel who was always by her side.

Donna's proudest working moment was her time at Boiling Springs Elementary, where she worked as the Cafeteria Manager. Her goal each day was to help change a child's life. Each of the children she met meant something special to her. She poured her heart and soul into achieving the needs that were met for each child.

Donna's children and grandchildren were her most prized possessions. Each of them had a unique bond that they will cherish forever. She would want them to know that she loved them. Each of them wants Mom to know that we knew all along. Thank you for being the best mom, we love you too.

A celebration of life service will be held at 5:00 PM Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Davis helping the family remember the life of Donna. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 3:00 - 5:00 PM.
