Mrs. Donna Lee Hovis of Shelby, North Carolina passed away on January 29, 2026. She was born in Charlotte on September 22, 1940 the daughter of Hiram Crawford Baucom and Cora Lee Chaney Baucom.

Donna was retired from Triple D Publishing and was a member of Lattimore Baptist Church. Donna was preceeded in death by her husband of 44 years, Alan Scott Hovis, Sr., her parents; Hiram Crawford Baucom and Cora Lee Chaney Baucom, 3 sisters, Christine Birmingham, Grace Farris and Helen Morrison, brother James Baucom., son-in-law John Crow and grandson, Chris Bivins.

Surviving Mrs. Hovis are daughters Cathy and son-in-law John Dover, Gina Crow, and son Alan Scott Hovis, Jr. and daughter-in-law Traci Hovis. Eight grandchildren: Kelli and husband Steven Steele, Bradley Dover and wife Leah, Tamara Vead and husband Connor, Zane Crow and wife Carrie, Andy Hovis and wife Tiffany, Seth Crow, Brittany Bivins and Alayna Hovis. Great-grandchildren: Kyndall Steele, Mason Hovis, Breelyn Steele, Chase Hovis, Harlyn Dover, Brooklyn Vead and Camdyn Vead.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 6, at 3:00 p.m. at Lattimore Baptist Church, 303 Peachtree Road, Lattimore, NC. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall. A private burial will be held at a later date.

A special thanks to her caregivers Kathie Woods, Terri Arwood, Julie Marshall, Dena Hawkins, and Penny Beam whose loving care allowed her to stay at home as long as possible.
