Douglas Lenard Hayes, 66 of Hickory, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024.

Doug loved his job at Hickory Home and Garden and all of his co-workers. He considered them family. Doug enjoyed working on small engines, lawnmowers, gardening, wood crafting and yard work.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Leonard Hayes and mother, Catherine Aileen Hayes of Lincolnton.

He is survived by his beautiful loving wife of 38 years, Tammy Jean Osment Hayes; his son, Brandon Hayes and wife, Jacklynn and four grandchildren, Andy, Amber, Edward and Jessalynn all of Hickory; his daughter, Lacey Diana Klinck and husband, David Klinck and two grandchildren, Paisley and John of Casar; two brothers, Charles and Ricky Hayes; baby sister, Judy Leonhardt and their families; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

Doug is loved and sorely missed by many.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 2:00pm to 3:30 at Christian Fellowship Interdenominational Church, Lawndale.

A Celebration of Life Service for Doug will be on Saturday, at 3:30pm Christian Fellowship Interdenominational Church in Lawndale with supper served after for close friends and family.
