Dr. Harold Everette Fite, 87, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023 in Shelby, NC

Born in McAdenville, NC on August 5, 1936. He was the son of the late Arthur Brice Fite and Lorene Thomasson Fite.

Harold is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ione Fite, sons Drew Fite (Leslie), Dale Fite (Terri-Lynn), grandchildren Hunter Fite (Courtney), Hallie Kennedy (Kyle), Dalton Fite, Zoe Fite and great granddaughter Anniston Fite. Also left to cherish his memory is his sister, Gaynell Lineberger.

Dr. Fite served in the ministry since 1963. During his ministry he served various churches in Gaston County and he was pastor at Eastside Baptist Church and Waco Baptist Church in Cleveland County. In addition, he served in the Army National Guard for 24 years, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1984.

A celebration of life service with full military honors will be held 11:00 AM Saturday December 16, 2023 at Waco Baptist Church with Dr. Wade Dellinger offering words of encouragement for those in attendance. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
