Ellen Bolin, 86, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on March 17, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born February 11, 1939 in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late James Lander and Minnie Canipe Short and was preceded in death by her sister, Ernestine "Teenie" Henderson. Ellen was the founding owner of Bolin Day Care where she joyfully worked for more than 50 years. She possessed a love for children that was unmatched. Her kindness and love influenced thousands of children over the years and she was affectionately known as Maw Maw Ellen by countless people. Ellen was a talented piano and organ player. She played both instruments at First Wesleyan Church for many years. Ellen loved spending time with her beloved family and friends and always had time for the children of the Kings Mountain Community. Her life was filled with the things she loved most and her contributions will be remembered for generations to come. She was a wonderful mother, loving grandmother and great- grandmother to so many, and a gracious friend to everyone.

Grandchildren: Leslie Laughridge (Ryan), Karen Rhodes (Jonathan), Lee Bolin (Lisa), Carsyn Bolin, Landon Bolin (Natalie), Madisyn Bolin, and Jaxson Bolin
Great Grandchildren: Noah Rhodes, Bella Laughridge, Hudson Rhodes, Alex Laughridge, and Adalyn Rhodes
Niece: Judy Henderson Nephew: Mike Henderson (Donna)

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM at First Wesleyan Church with Pastor Caleb Williams officiating

VISITATION: Friday, March 21, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
