Elven "Evelyn" Crawford was born February 4, 1947 in Shelby, NC, to the late Mr. Gussie Henry Crawford and Mrs. Willie Jewel Tory Crawford.

She left this life July 31, 2025, at Atrium Cleveland Pines Nursing Home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Gussie Henry Crawford and Mrs. Willie Jewel Tory Crawford; two sisters, Gussie Jewel Crawford Walton and Helen Louise Crawford Mintz; brother, Robert Crawford; and special nephew, Lamar Hyde.

She leaves to cherish her beloved daughter, Dorothy J. Crawford (Nathan) of Shelby, NC and son, Graylin J. Crawford (Michelle) of Marietta, GA; sisters, Dorothy A. Crawford Mintz (Raymond) and Lois Crawford, both of Shelby, NC; her eight adorable grandchildren, Darvarius A. Crawford, Da-Jshun L.Thompson, Da'Marqez J. Crawford, all of Shelby, NC, Laquanda R. Roberts of Kings Mountain, NC, Graylin Crawford (Megan) of Marietta GA, Timothy Crawford (Sadia) of Auburn, AL, Tyrece Crawford (Ana) of Tuscon, AZ, Kendra Crawford (Kyle) of Douglasville, GA; eight great grandchildren; special niece, Melissa Crawford; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; several special friends, Jackie Hoey, Cheryl Foster Wilson, Carolyn Maddox, and all of her "Big 8 Sisterhood Group" - Sonda S. Kennedy, Dorethia S. Miller, Iva B. Wilson, Stephany E. Ledbetter, Anganette H. Homsley, and Elaine M. Williamson.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Shelby, NC
