Evonna Mae Gunckle Burton, 83, of Bessemer City, passed away at her home on October 24, 2023.

She was born August 30, 1940, in Montgomery County, to the late Ronald Eugene Gunckle and Rena Craft Gunckle.

She is preceded in death by brother, Ronald Eugene Gunckle, Jr.; sisters, Judy Mullins, Linda Lair, Carole McKinney.

Evonna enjoyed a simple life. Her favorite tv shows were NCIS, New York. She loved trips to the mountains and sitting along the creek. Evonna dearly loved her family.

Left to cherish her memories are daughter, Rhonda Carroll (Jeff); son, Butch Gunckle (Shirley); brothers, Kevin Gunckle, Keith Spencer; sisters, GiGi Gunckle, Tina Fitzwater Gunckle; grandchildren, Christine Philbeck, Brandon Boone, Kelli Gunckle, Chris Gunckle, Whitney Graves (Ashton), Brandon Bridgeman, Tracy Easler (Richard), Kelly Payne (Todd); 13 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Monday, October 30, 2023.

Evonna's celebration of life will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev Brant Wilkie officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens Cemetery.
