Faye Adair Godfrey, age 90, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024.

She was born on September 11, 1933 in High Shoals Township (Rutherford County), NC to the late James Berton Adair and Edisto McDaniel Adair. Faye grew up and attended school in Cliffside, NC. In addition to being a homemaker, over the years she also worked at both Cone Mills of Cliffside and at Peeler Rug Company (Gaffney, SC). She was a devoted wife, mother and a faithful member of Prospect Baptist Church. She was a kind and generous lady who was loved by her family, neighbors and her church community. In her spare time, Faye enjoyed watching game shows and old movies, especially Westerns, reading classic movie magazines and spending time with her cats, Inky & Daisy.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Greene Reid and son-in-law David Reid of Joliet, IL, by her sister Joyce Adair Blackmon of Charlotte, NC, and by many beloved nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter Wanda June Greene, her sisters Bertie Adair Randall and Edith Adair Tucker, and by her husband Tharo "Bud" Godfrey.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Eggers Funeral Home in Cliffside, NC. The funeral will take place on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at Prospect Baptist Church (Mooresboro, NC) where it will be officiated by the Reverend Tim Elmore and Reverend Ernie Cole.
