Faye Sain Brittain

Faye Sain Brittain, 91, of Shelby passed away peacefully at her home on February 1, 2025.

Born in Lincoln County, on January 27, 1934, she was the only child to the late E.I. (Ike) Sain and Carrie S. Sain of Vale. She was a 1951 graduate of North Brook High School. She was a secretary at Shadowline in Morganton for 20 years, then operated her parents' store in Vale for many years. She retired as office administrator of People's Security Life Insurance of Shelby.

She was a member of Lafayette Street Church in Shelby and was a former member of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church in Vale where she held many positions, including pianist / organist for 37 years as well as charge treasurer for 14 years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42-years, Ted D. Brittain, of Shelby, her son, Bobby Dale Hunt of Florida, stepdaughter, Melanie Hamrick of Mooresboro, and two step-sons-in-law, Gene Smith, and Ed Hamrick of Shelby.

Faye is survived by one daughter, Sherry Hunt-Dedmon (Shane) of Chesnee, SC, stepdaughter, Cathy B. Smith (Alan Wilson) of Shelby, Robert Stamey of Mooresboro; two grandsons, Trey Ross (Jenni) of Shelby, Derek Ross (Brittany) of the U.S. Army in Washington State, three step-grandchildren; Tripp Smith (Emily), Brittany Burnett (Shannon Smith) of Shelby, and Lauren Hamrick of Mooresboro. Eight great-grandchildren; Lorelei (Ellie) and Nikolai Ross, Jaylee and Rinley Ross, Chloee and Ember Burnett, Bristyl and Brooklyn Smith. She is also survived by a dear friend, Freddie Kuhn of Winston-Salem.

As we respectfully obey Mrs. Brittain's wishes, there will be no services.
