First Broad River clean up is September 16, 2017

The City of Shelby Stormwater Division will be having a First Broad River Clean-Up Event on September 16, 2017, from 1:00 until 3:00pm (weather permitting). We are watching the forecast following Hurricane Irma and will evaluate the river levels to determine if the event can proceed as scheduled. We will meet in the parking lot at Ingle's on Highway 74/W. Dixon Boulevard and work our way down river to the end of the First Broad River Trail.
Clean rivers provide better water quality for drinking water as well as recreational activities. It also improves habitat for fish and wildlife. We will be wading in the river for this event so come prepared. Help us clean and protect the First Broad River.
For more information on this event, contact Layne Owen at (704) 669-2062 or by email at layne.owen@cityofshelby.com.
