Florence Collins, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday October 16, 2024 at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain.

Born in Camden, New Jersey on November 19, 1937, She was the daughter of the late Charles Schmidt and Alice Fischer Schmidt of Vineland, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard P. Collins, Sr., brother Sonny Schmidt, sisters Dorothy Stanton, RuthAnn Murray-Patterson, and Patricia Raines. Florence was a member of the United Methodist Church of Shelby. Florence was greatpuzzle maker and loved helping to take care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Florence is survived by her sister Helen Serlick of New Jersey, Son Buddy Collins Jr. (Terri) of Snow Camp, North Carolina, Dina Fraccola of Shelby, North Carolina, and Cathy Stark (Jerry) of Shelby, North Carolina. Grandchildren James Baldwin (Stephenie Meadows), Kelly Baldwin, Stephenie Snyder (Mike), Audrey Jaynes (Taylor), James Fraccola (Katie). Great grandchildren, Chase Armstrong, Hunter and AJ Fraccola, Collin and Laney Jaynes, Harper and Nora Snyder.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday October 23, 2024 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral home & Crematory, Officiated by Pastor Samar Ghandour. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service. The family will have a private burial following the service.
