Frances Leona Padgett Travis

Frances Leona Padgett Travis, a beacon of love and resilience, passed away at the age of 94 on the 1st of January, 2025, at her cherished home.

Born on July 13, 1930, in Rutherford County, she was a woman whose life was a testament to kindness and spirited devotion.

Her journey began as the daughter of Willie P. Padgett and Maudie Butler Padgett. She shared a beautiful and enduring partnership with her late husband, McDowell "Buster" Travis, and together they raised a family that expanded across multiple generations.

Frances was a quintessential homemaker and an active member of the Hoyle Memorial Christian Fellowship Church. Her faith and commitment to her community were interwoven with every aspect of her life.

She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion through her children: Steve Travis and wife Kecia, Donald Travis and wife Kathy, Ricky Travis and girlfriend Tereasa Lail, Larry Travis and wife Vicki, and a daughter, Robbie Travis and boyfriend Kevin Lackey. Her lineage continues with twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were the lights of her life.

Frances was also a sister and friend, now joining her son Gary, her two daughters, Maxine Starnes and Hollis Travis, her brother Johnny Padgett, and sister Laverne Laws, who predeceased her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hoyle Memorial Christian Fellowship Church.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 2:00 PM at Hoyle Memorial Christian Fellowship Church with the Rev. Dr. Dick Chapman and Rev Ray York.

The funeral will follow in the church cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Fallston.
