Frances McDavid Freeman, 84, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on January 11, 2021 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

She was born in Memphis, TN, daughter of the late William and Sylvia Bedford McDavid and was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Frances was also preceded in death by her husband of thirty-six years, Robert Franklin Freeman Sr..

Frances attended Cornerstone Church of God in Kings Mountain when able to do so. She retired from Curtain Bed and Bath in Gastonia, NC after many years of dedicated service as a seamstress. Always active, after her retirement, Frances worked in childcare at First Baptist Church in Bessemer City for more than ten years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling to the mountains and camping with her family. Her love for animals was never ending and she loved her pets just like her family. Frances was a strong woman and possessed the heart of a fighter and a never give up attitude. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. Her strength, wisdom and love will be missed dearly by her friends and loving family.

Sons: Samuel R. Cates Jr. and wife Vickie, Old Hickory, TN and Robert Freeman Jr. of Stanley, NC

Nine Grandchildren and eight Great Grandchildren

FUNERAL SERVICE: The family will hold a private interment at a later date at Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery in Black Mountain, North Carolina
