Gary Wayne Frye, 75, of Gastonia, North Carolina, passed away on January 26, 2025 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

Born October 23, 1949 in Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Lee Frye and Ruby Whitted Frye and was preceded in death by sisters Hazel Rayfield, Mary Lou Bruce, and Jewel Christine Frye, and brothers Lee and Danny Frye. He was also preceded in death by brother-in-law Rodger Oliver. Gary worked as a roofer all his life, including as business owner of Frye Contracting Services, LLC. He was a hard worker who always exemplified a strong work ethic. Gary spent many hours fishing with his brother-in-law Charles Oliver. He enjoyed shooting pool and entering tournaments as well. Gary loved going to his grandson Peyton's baseball games and watching him catch. He had a great sense of humor and kept the joy of laughter in the air. Gary was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful memories for his loved ones to cherish.

Sisters: Norma Kirkpatrick and Shirley McMillan
Gary is additionally survived by his mother-in-law, Louise Oliver, and siblings-in-law Charles Ronald Oliver, Gloria Roper, Donna Wilson, Ricky Oliver, and Kimberly Hargrave.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ricky Oliver officiating.

VISITATION: Saturday, February 1, 2025 prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:50 A.M. in the parlor of Harris Funeral Home.
