George Leonard Camp, 83, of Grover, NC, passed away on June 22, 2023 at his home. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Max and Ruby Williams Camp and was preceded in death by a brother, James Camp and a grandchild, Robert Huntsinger. Mr. Camp served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. George loved being outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed softball and baseball and was an accomplished player during his early years of life. George enjoyed camping with his family and spending time on the lake. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed greatly by all those whose lived were impacted by George.

Daughters: Barbara Allen (Charles) and Sandra Mayes (Kelly)

Brothers: Floyd Camp and Hugh Camp

Sisters: Rebecca Murray (J.L.), Reba Hudson, Brenda Evans (George)

Grandchildren: Wesley Allen (Amy Burrell), Justin Allen (Amber), Daniel Mayes, Candice Mayes, Samantha Mayes, and Evelyn Mayes

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the Ollie Harris memorial Chapel with Pastor Barry Miles officiating

VISITATION: Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM prior to the service in the parlor of Harris Funeral Home
