Mr. Gerald (Turkey) Allen, 81, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at his daughters' residence.
A native of Cleveland County, he was born on December 16, 1943, the son of the late Frank Allen and Sue Yates. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, his stepfather, William Bud Yates, one son, Gerald Eugene Allen, Jr., one daughter, Laura Ann Thomas, one brother, Kenneth Allen, and two grandchildren, Dustin Allen McDaniel and Sydni Stockton.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Carolyn Emory Allen of the home, two daughters, Connie McDaniel and husband Jeff of Ellenboro, and Angie Stockton and husband Tommy of Lattimore, one sister, Patsy Wease of Grover, four grandchildren, Ashley Jacobus, Brittany Thomas, Shelly George, and Josh Stockton, and four great-grandchildren, and a special friend and cousin, Ricky Allen.
Turkey was a former member of the Windjammers Motorcycle Club for 12 years and a former member of the Moose Lodge in Shelby for 15 years.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 6:30-8:30 pm at Cleveland Funeral Service and Crematory.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, January 31, 2025, in the Chapel of Cleveland Funeral Services and Crematory officiated by a friend of the family, Scottie Keeter. Burial will immanently follow at Frank Allen Family Memorial Cemetery in Grover.
