Geraldine Conner Harris, 89, born on October 7, 1932 was welcomed to the Lord, and her family that preceded her, on February 14, 2022.
Geraldine "MeMaw" was an amazing and fierce woman of grace, beauty and humility. Born in Polk county, one of ten, her humor and optimistic view on life helped her through many days. Her strength both physically from long hours in the field, and mentally from the challenges of life's hardships, is a rarity. If sun or rain, she'd say that it was a great day and to be thankful for it. All that knew her have been blessed from her generosity. Some of you knew her from the lunchroom at the middle school in Boiling Springs. She remembered all of your names. Some knew her from "The Hub" grill inside Medical Arts. She remembered your names as well.
Her family wishes you to remember MeMaw the way she lived before the disease. Her garden, big enough to share with the community and the food she served for the joy it gave her and the strength it gave others.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother 'Bull' John Walker Conner and Marjorie Boone Conner; husband C.W. Harris; brothers John Neal Conner (Jean), Neb Conner (Anna); sisters Betty Burgess (Bill), Polly Conner, Pat Taylor (Johnny), friend Mike Champion.
She is survived by her sons Mike Edwards (Anita), Ken Harris (Denise), daughters Wanda Beam (Kenneth), Eva Harris (Kim), grandsons John Rice, Jason Beam (Brittany), granddaughters Jada Henderson (Matt), Racheal Haywood (Mike); great grand children Baylee Beam, Carson Beam, Gracie Beam, Emmalyn, Kason Beam, Walker Henderson, Makenna Henderson, Zurie Haywood & Zara Haywood and great great grandson Holland Sandford.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday February 16, 2022 at Sandy Run Baptist Church, Pastor Andy Oliver and Jeff Queen, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
