Hailey Madison Venable

Hailey Madison Venable, 31, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in Charlotte, NC, after a courageous battle with Cholangiocarcinoma.

Born December 6, 1993 in Mecklenburg County, Hailey was the cherished daughter of Mason Charles Venable and Jill Lyerly Venable.

Hailey graduated from Shelby High School in 2012 and continued her education at USC Upstate where she played collegiate soccer and earned a degree in Exercise Science. Her passion for helping others led to her pursuit of a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from Lenoir-Rhyne University.

She was an Occupational Therapist on the Spinal Cord Injury Team at Atrium Carolinas Rehabilitation Center. Hailey was also founder of Buzz City Rehab, LLC, dedicated to helping active women "power through" life's challenges with strength and resilience.

Hailey was deeply passionate about leading a healthy lifestyle and inspiring others to do the same--both in her work and through her business. At the start of Hailey's battle with cancer, Carolina Rehabilitation started "Hailey's Sweat Club" and "Strong like Hailey", programs that pushed patients and therapists to be stronger, reach further and never back down from a challenge.

Hailey's life was filled with love, strength and determination. She had a heart for others and always wanted the best for those around her.

Hailey is survived by the love of her life, Alek Vann; her brother, Brandon Venable (Shelby); her grandmother, Frances Lyerly; her grandfather, Ned Lyerly (Peggy); and her grandmother, Harriet Venable. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and faithful friends who brought so much joy to her life, along with Olive, a Golden Retriever, her faithful companion during the good times and bad.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant City Church, Shelby, NC. A celebration of Hailey's life will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Pastor Gary Marburger offering words of comfort and encouragement.
