Harold Leon Ramseur

Harold Leon Ramseur, 70, was born on December 27, 1953 in Cleveland County and departed this life on September 8, 2024 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, NC.

He was the son of the late Andrew and Ida Mae Wilson Ramseur.
Harold graduated from Burns High School in 1971, where he excelled as an athlete in football, basketball, and track. He dedicated his life, at the age of 19, to working with his father in Ramseur's store, which was built in 1969 at 2123 Kingston Road. He also loved working on the family farm. He married Deborah Wray in 1979. He was known for his love of farming, fishing, working diligently and being involved in political ventures, and eating pizza.
Harold grew up attending Ramseur Baptist Church, where he started and sang in the Ramseur Baptist Church All Male Choir and where he served as a Sunday school teacher. He served as a Democratic Party Representative for Cleveland County; board member of the Cleveland County Community Development Corporation; and board member of Carolina State Bank. Later in 2010, he was the co-owner of Two Palms Building Solutions, LLC with his wife, Deborah. He was dedicated to his community and serving others.
Harold lived a good life. He was a dedicated husband and father. He was passionate about carrying on his father's legacy and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Andrew Ramseur, Sr. and Christopher Anthony Ramseur and his sister, Martha Ramseur McLeod.
He leaves to cherish fond memories to his loving wife of 45 years, Deborah Wray Ramseur; son, Langston Wray Ramseur; sisters, Barbara Ramseur Johnson of Orlando, FL, Dorothy Ramseur Logan of Shelby, NC, Janet Ramseur Stroud of Mooresboro, NC, Sylvia Ramseur Yampierre of Boiling Springs, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Funeral services were held on September 14, 2024 at Lawndale First Baptist in Lawndale. Burial will take place at Ramseur Baptist Church. Enloe Mortuary was in charge of services.
