Howard Bowen Jr., 90, of 433 Garner Creek Rd, passed away on Saturday, June 8th, 2024.

Born in Hode, KY, he was the husband of Mary Ann Bowen and the son of Howard and Fannie Moore Bowen. Howard formerly worked in coal mining and was a member of Mt. Whitaker Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Bowen are his children, Billy Bowen (Judy), Robert Bowen, and Roberta Brackett (Andy); his grandchildren, Faith Spalding (Tony), Heather Blanton (Stephen), Kyle Bowen (Rebecca), Kaycee Brackett, Jessica Scott (Anthony), Christian Brackett, and Will Brackett; five great-grandchildren; his brothers, Tony Bowen, Eugene Bowen, and Larry Bowen; his sisters, Carol Patterson, Ruby McGrath, and Eleanor Kinser.

Mr. Bowen was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Bowen; his father, Howard Bowen Sr; his mother, Fannie Moore Bowen; and his siblings, Phyllis Speakman, Virginia McCoy, Ruben Bowen Sr., and Glen Bowen.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 12, 2024 from 12:00 - l:00 pm at Mt. Whitaker Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow 1:00 pm at with Rev Michael Owen officiating. Interment will be at Armstrong Cemetery.

The family will be at their respective homes.
