J.C. Wishon, age 80, of Frazier Drive, Forest City, NC, died Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
J.C. was born July 4, 1938 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Caleb Wishon and Novella Waters Wishon. He worked for Mastercraft most of his life and was a past member of Sandy Level Baptist Church. J.C. enjoyed auto body repair work and watching NASCAR. His favorite driver was Tony Stewart. He also took great delight in taking care of his pets: D.J., Ella and Toby.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Jones; son, Jason Clint Ray Wishon; three brothers, Troy, Henry and Robert Wishon and three sisters, Gladys Jones, Willie Mae Bradley and Lois Lowery.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Laura Kay Wishon; two daughters, Cindy Wishon Mode of Spindale and Gail Crawford (Steve) of Forest City; son, Sammy Wishon (Donna Owens) of Forest City; sister, Claudia Mae Tessenier (Nelson) of Caroleen; five grandchildren, Leslie McNamara (Patrick), Danielle Guffey (Anthony), Brandy McCombs, Haley Johnson, Haden Johnson and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Donald Dover officiating. Interment will follow in Caroleen-Avondale-Henrietta Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
