Jack David Ledford, Sr.

Jack David Ledford, Sr., 77, of Lincolnton, NC, passed away on Wednesday April 10, 2024 at CaroMont Health in Gastonia, NC. Born in Cleveland County April 1, 1947 to the late C.W. Ledford and Claudia Drewery Ledford.

David graduated from Fallston High and was drafted into the Army where he served in Vietnam as a Staff Sergeant with the 9th Infantry Division. For his courageous service, he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross, and Bronze Star Medal. After his heroic service he attended Gardner-Webb University. He retired from Duke Energy with over 30 years of service. David was an avid outdoorsman and Atlanta Braves and Tar Heels fan.

David is preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Pamela Poole Ledford along with four brothers; Jimmy Ledford, Horace Ledford, Robert Ledford, Eddie Ledford and seven sisters; Peggy Ledford, Eloise Hammett, Sadie Turner, Judy Green, Jetty Carpenter, Patsy Ledford Harris, and Jean Richards.

He is survived by his sister Linda Terhorst (Heinrich), brother, Tommy Ledford (Linda); children Jack D. Ledford, Jr. (Jenny), Angie Ledford Norris, and Joshua David Ledford (Monica). Also left to cherish his memory are his grandkids Jack David Ledford, III., Tristan Ledford (Brooke), Dalton Ledford, and Jon Ledford (Allie), Zach Norris, Jake Gordon along with his great grandchildren Brody Ledford and Everly Ledford. As well as, sister-in-law Patsy Ledford, a special sister-in-law, Janice Caracappa and niece Cara Dowling.

A funeral service will be held Monday, April 15, 2024, at 3:00 PM, in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Marcus McGill officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior with a burial to follow the service at Cleveland Memorial Park.
