Jack Moss

Jack Moss, age 71, of Shelby, NC, passed away on April 16, 2026 on the family farm. He was a simple man, at least, that's how he would have described himself; but those who truly knew him understood he was far more. He was a man of quiet brilliance, deep skill, and a heart that spoke louder through actions than words ever could. There will never be another quite like him. A backwoods soul at heart, he felt most at home in the outdoors, whether camping under open skies, tending a garden, or shaping something beautiful with his hands. Jack was a master carpenter and a gifted wood-working artist. His craftsmanship was nothing short of extraordinary. There was a kind of magic in what he built; his work reflected patience, knowledge, and talent that few could ever match. His legacy is built into every piece of wood he shaped and every life he touched.

He experienced his share of life's challenges, but they only deepened his kindness and strengthened the way he cared for others. Through it all, Jack remained as sweet as he could be, kind, good-hearted, and genuine. He was the kind of man who didn't seek or need recognition, though he deserved plenty.

Jack was a devoted father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. Above everything else, his greatest loves were his daughter and grandchildren. They were his pride, joy, and the center of his world. To his family, Jack was a loyal presence, and they all counted themselves lucky to call him their own. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Michael Moss, his grandchildren, Allandria, Ethane, Elizabeth, Faith, Nevaeah, and Phoenix, his brothers Gary Moss (wife Nancy), Randy Moss (wife Judith), his sister Sandy McNeely (husband Keith), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James (Puzie) and Judy Moss, his wife, Nita, and his sister, Marsha Davis.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Dallas Baptist Church, 402 W. Trade Street, Dallas, NC 28034 at 3:00 pm. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. The family would like to thank you for all the love, support, and prayers. In place of flowers, please consider a donation to The Cancer Society.
