James Ehringhous Dockery, age 57 of Shelby, NC, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, at his residence.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Savannah Dockery of the home, a stepdaughter, Skyler Carswell of Shelby, NC, a son, Tim Dockery of Weaverville, NC, two daughters, Samantha Dockery, and Shannon Dockery of Fairview, NC. He is also survived by his in-laws, Richard and Rebekah Barclay of Boiling Springs, NC, a brother, Ed Dockery of Asheville, NC, and a sister, Glenda Lewis of Weaverville, NC.

Born March 4, 1967, in Asheville, NC, James was the son of the late Gerald Rawls and Betty Hensley Rawls. James was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He enjoyed carp fishing, working on old cars, living life, and spending time with his family and friends. James was a loving person that would help anyone that was in need. He loved spending time outdoors and going to the shooting range with his father-in-law, Richard.

A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at a later date.
