James Lolan Winn, 79, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Atrium Health Cleveland Hospital.

Born in Cleveland County on March 22, 1945, he was the son of the late James Otus Winn and Rebecca Bridges Winn. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Frances Verlinden Winn and wife Barbara Ledford Winn.

After more than 30 years of dedicated service, Lolan retired from BellSouth. His early years at the New York Institute of Photography sparked a deep love for art and photography, as well as a lifelong passion for traveling, particularly to the western United States. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Lolan is survived by his wife Barbara Luckadoo Winn, his son James "Jack" Winn (Brian Bish), daughter Jeanne Sweeney (Jonathan), step son Todd Smith (Diane). Also left to cherish his memory are his three grandchildren, Ella Sweeney, Griffin Sweeney and Taylor Smith.

To honor the life of Mr. Winn, the family will hold a private graveside service at Trinity Baptist Church in Mooresboro, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lolan's honor to Trinity Baptist Church, Mooresboro, NC or to the charity of your choice.
