James Preston Carrigan, Sr., 80, of Kings Mountain, passed away February 16, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He was born In Kings Mountain, NC to the late Arthur and Eliza Stiles Carrigan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Buell, Bob, Bill, and Gerald Carrigan and sister, Faye House. He is survived by two children, Kim Ford (Rick), Jamie Carrigan (Mary Elizabeth) of Kings Mountain. He was Pawpaw Jim to his grandchildren, Ashley Hope (Jack), Brittany Dover, Amy Navy, Courtney Lankford (Jeremy), Emily Dover (Josh), 11 great-grandchildren and one sister, Elaine Parker. He retired from Wix Inc. where he worked for over 40 years. He was member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching all sports. He was an avid UNC Tarheel fan, KMHS booster supporter and enjoyed watching the band. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 11AM, Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Neely officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 5:30-7PM at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain. Burial will follow the service in Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
