James Richard Panther, 84, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at his home in Grover, NC.

Born in Cleveland County on July 7, 1938, he was the son of the late Grady Richard Panther and Minnie Bivins Panther. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Roswitha Panther daughter, Natascha Panther, and granddaughter, Julieanne Sweeney.

James is survived by his three daughters, Bianca Long and her son, George, daughter, Julie Sweeney and her husband, Steve and their children; Laura Singh-Sweeney and Michael Sweeney as well as his daughter, Rebecca Diaz and her husband, Manny Diaz and sons, Chase, Evan, and David.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday June 3, 2023 at Grover Church of God with Pastor Ron Hawkins officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
