Janice Pruett Brown, age 75, of Rutherfordton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at her residence.

Janice was born Wednesday, July 11, 1945 in Rutherford County to the late Carmel Pruett and Mattie Hill Pruett. She worked for Broyhill Manufacturing for fifteen years and enjoyed yardwork, gardening and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Janice was a dedicated and faithful member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. She had a ministry of serving those in her church family. Janice truly had heart of love for her Lord, her family, her church and for those in need.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Doyle S. Brown; son-in-law, Gerald Gettys; three brothers, Billy, Bobby and Charlie Pruett; two sisters, Lois Doggett and Dot Pruett and two infant grandchildren, Holly and Angelica Rothrock.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Diane Callahan of Ellenboro and Debbie Gettys of Rutherfordton; son, Steve Brown (Stacey) also of Rutherfordton; an "adopted daughter" Vickie Lynn Moore of Ellenboro; two brothers, Carl Pruett (Lena) of Rutherfordton, Ray Pruett of Forest City and a special niece, Pat Ledbetter of Forest City. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Brandy Sisk (Daniel), Jessica Fulbright (Brent), Emily Bailey (Bobby Bagwell), Robbie Rothrock, Gretchen O'Donnell (Shane), Brittany Spivey, Michael Brown, Meghan Brown; seven great-grandchildren, Asher, Landon, Micah, Reagan, Bentley, Sawyer and Emma.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Spindale Fellowship Holiness with Reverend Leon Brown, Reverend Chad Sisk and Reverend Buddy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
