Jayne Bailey Shaw, 81, of Shelby, NC, joined her precious Lord and Savior in Heaven on October 10, 2023.

She was born at home in Mooresboro, NC on July 6, 1942 to Alvie Ernest Bailey and Nelle Harris Bailey, and was the middle child of two brothers, Larry & Jimmie. Jayne graduated from Shelby High School where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. She was awarded Miss Shelby Miss Congeniality by The Charlotte News her senior year. She attended Appalachian State University where she studied Early Childhood Education before becoming a homemaker. Jayne loved being a mother and was the proudest of all to become a Mimi. Jayne was preceded in death by husband William "Bill" Lee Shaw; father Alvie Ernest Bailey; mother Nelle Harris Bailey; two brothers Jimmie Bailey and Larry Bailey; several unborn children; and infant grandson Christopher Chad Heavner. She is survived by daughter Angela Jayne Harris of Shelby; daughter Crystal Harris Boone and husband Steve of Kings Mountain; granddaughter Kristen Putnam Hutton and husband Thomas of Shelby.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Marcus McGill and Jim Brackett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Ross Grove Baptist Church, 1225 Fallston Road, Shelby, NC 28150.
