Jean Rae Bridges, 90, peacefully passed away on October 24, 2024, at Embrace Hospice House in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Born to William E. Moore and Helen Moore, she was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Linda Lee Moore, and her devoted husband of 63 years, David Lee Bridges.

Jean is survived by her four loving children: Stephen Edward Bridges and wife Brenda Arroyo; Jeannie Ramsey and husband JR; Sharon Abernathy and husband Clyde; and David Lee Bridges II and wife Samantha. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Joshua Haney, John Haney, Daniel Lee Mullis, Noah Bridges, Lauren Paige Stepp and husband Michael, Kristy Kirby and husband Nathan, Jennie Bridges and husband Daniel Burger, and Alexandra (Lexi) Bridges.

A dedicated registered nurse for 30 years in the maternity ward at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Jean had a deep passion for caring for mothers and newborns.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to the Chapel By the Sea Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 3488, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.

A service honoring Jean's life will take place at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home, 106 Cherryville Rd Shelby, NC 218150. Burial will be held immediately following the service at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Shelby.
