Jeanne Bridges Homesley, 77, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at her residence.

Mrs. Homesley was born on October 23, 1946 in Gaston County, NC a daughter of the late Hood Bridges and Inez Tate Bridges. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart College. Mrs. Homesley worked as recreation director for Bessemer City and was also a substitute teacher and taught GED classes at Gaston College. She was a member of Long Creek Presbyterian Church in Kings Mountain where she served in various capacities over the years. Mrs. Homesley loved to watch birds.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Edwin Homesley.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Broughton C. "Sonny" Homesley, Jr. of the home; a son Alan Homesley; a sister, Ann B. Scism all of Kings Mountain; a step-granddaughter, Chelsea Champion and three great grandchildren; a special niece and nephew, Monica Scism Wright (Wesley) Marcus Scism (Nicole).

The family wishes to express as special thank you to Hospice of Cleveland County and to her nurses, Kelli Funderburke, Kortney Deaton, Jessie Carson and Katie Pressley for all of the care they provided.

The family will receive friends from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Long Creek Presbyterian Church in Kings Mountain.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Long Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Will Upchurch officiating.

Burial will be private.
