Born on March 21, 1927, in Lawndale, North Carolina, Jessie lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to her family and beliefs. She left this world in Shelby, North Carolina, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and devotion that will be cherished by all who knew her. Jessie was the beloved wife of the late Clyde Sweezy, Sr., of 48 years and the cherished daughter of the late Rommie and Cordie Brackett. Her journey through life was shared with her siblings, the late J.D. Self, Ted Brackett, Lucy Bumgardner, and Carrie Lovelace. She is survived by her loving brother, Ray Brackett, and sister, Dessie Brackett, who together with Jessie formed an unbreakable family bond that withstood the test of time.

A devoted mother, Jessie's nurturing spirit will forever be remembered by her sons, Clyde Sweezy, Jr. and his wife Linda, Mark Sweezy and his girlfriend Amber Janis, and her daughters, Kristy Davis and her husband Ronnie, and Teresa Curry. Each of them carries a piece of her loving heart, a testament to the unwavering support and care she provided throughout their lives.

Jessie's role as a grandmother and great-grandmother was one she held with great pride and joy. She was a guiding light to her six grandchildren, Jason Sweezy, Adam Sweezy, Becky Davis, Pamela Sweezy, Leslie Curry, and Tim Curry. Her love extended to her nine great-grandchildren, Jonathan Sweezy, Jacob Sweezy and his wife Ruby, Harley Hollifield and her husband Tyler, Whitney Hinson and her husband Alec, Josh Boyter and his wife Alyssa, Ana Davis, John Davis, Tillie Davis, and Noah Curry. The family circle grew even wider with the arrival of ten great-great-grandchildren, each of whom had the privilege of knowing their remarkable matriarch. Jessie's life was a reflection of her faith-filled heart, as she lived by the words, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," a principle often attributed to Jesus in the Gospel of Luke. This golden rule was evident in the way Jessie treated everyone she met, spreading kindness and compassion at every opportunity.

Friends and family will remember Jessie as a pillar of strength and love. Her ability to see the good in others, her unwavering support, and her endless capacity to forgive and nurture are qualities that set her apart. Her home was a haven of warmth, where laughter and wisdom filled the rooms, and where every visitor left feeling a little more loved and comforted.

Jessie's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of grace and resilience. She faced life's challenges with poise and dignity, always finding strength in her faith and the love of her family. Her spirit was a light that could not be dimmed, and her influence will continue to be felt through the lives of those she touched.
