Mr. Jimmie "Jim" Grant, age 82 of Shelby, NC, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Glenda Whitman Grant of the home, his children, Ramona Grant of Shelby, NC, and Donavan Grant and wife Lisa of Matthews, NC, five grandchildren, Dominoe Allen and husband William of Shelby, NC, Delilah Williams and husband Chris of Charlotte, NC, Harlee Morgan and husband Jim of Shelby, NC, Truman Grant of Matthews, NC, and Claire Grant of Matthews, NC, four great grandchildren, Patrick Dean Ryan of Cherryville, NC, Eric Lee Pine of Shelby, NC, Joshua Morgan of Shelby, NC, and Jackson Morgan of Shelby, NC, a sister, Cathey Grant of Myrtle Beach , SC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born September 29, 1942, in Alexander County, NC, Jimmy was the son of the late Anderson T. Grant and Bonnie Rea Childers Grant and was preceded in death by her siblings, Bobbie Grant and Marie Rogers.
Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, tinker/fixing various things, and spending time with his family and friends. He could fix and build about anything, and the family believed he could do almost everything. Jim had a heart of gold and would help anyone who needed his help. Jim will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00pm Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Patience Brumley. A visitation will be held from 1:00pm - 2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
