JoAnn Washburn Hicks

Mrs. JoAnn Washburn Hicks, 87, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.

Mrs. Hicks was born on October 1, 1935 in Cleveland County a daughter of the late Jimmy Washburn and Gwendolyn Ann Dellinger Smith. She was retired from FASCO in Shelby. Mrs. Hicks was affectionately know by her family as "Two Two" and "Two Momma."

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hicks and her step-father Roy Smith.

Survivors include her two daughters, Bobbie Waters and husband Richard of Shelby; Susan Ramsaur and husband Rick of Fort Mill,SC; a son, Rick Hicks of Cherryville; five grandchildren, Gwen Wade (Robert) of Kings Mountain, Michael Waters of Shelby, David Ramsaur (Alaina) of Norfolk, Virginia, Haley Arrowood (Zach) of Shelby; Hunter Hicks (Brook) of Shelby; 10 great grandchildren, Colton Wade (Breanna), Taylor Wade, Charlie Mae Ramsaur, Beckett Ramsaur, Sydney Waters, Jessie Waters, Maddie Waters, Olivia Waters, Layla Arrowood and Zander Arrowood; three great-great grandchildren, Easton Wade, Cooper Wade and Waylon Thrift.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 1:30PM to 2:30PM at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Rose Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Kyle DeLong officiating.

Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston.
