JoAnn Wylie Hambright Pollock, 91 passed away on July 4, 2023 at Atrium Health Shelby.

Born in Blacksburg, SC on July 12, 1931, she was the daughter of Russell and Elma Ross Wylie. In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert (Bob) E. Hambright and her second husband, John (Jack) W. Pollock as well as sisters, Jacquelyn Wylie Feuer, and Joyce Wylie Burnham.

JoAnn graduated from Blacksburg High School and attended Winthrop College. She faithfully supported her husband, church and the community of Grover, NC and most of all enjoyed life as a homemaker. After the death of her first husband, she took over the management of Hambright Hardware and Fuel Oil Company. It was there that she met her second husband, Jack. They moved to Shelby in 1999. JoAnn attended First Baptist Church of Shelby and was a part of the Parlor Coed Sunday School Class.

JoAnn and "Bob" had two daughters, Carol and husband Billy Rorie, Dawn and husband Dennis Price, one grandson, Nick and wife Laura Price, two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Avery Price. JoAnn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is also survived by sister in law, Carolyn Hambright and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 8, at 12pm in the Webb Chapel at First Baptist Church of Shelby, NC. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service at 11 AM in the sanctuary. A private burial will be held at Grover City Cemetery.
