John Clarence Edwards, Jr., 71 of Lawndale, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory.

Born in McDowell County, on May 1, 1953, he was the son of the late John Clarence Edwards, Sr. and Connie Curry Edwards. Clarence was retired after 45 years of service with Turner Trucking and was a member of Elliott Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Lovelace Edwards; son, Steve Mullinax and wife, Melinda of Lawndale; daughter, Tammy Blanton and husband, Preston of Lawndale; two brothers, Keith Edwards and Timmy Edwards both of Shelby; sister, Annette Davis of Conover; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and two special nephews, Trent Smith and Jordan Smith.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
