Johnny Edwin Webber

Johnny Edwin Webber, 94, passed away peacefully at his home in Shelby on June 21, 2025. He was born on May 1, 1931, in Cherokee County, the son of the late Ralph F. Webber and Willie Jones Webber.

A devoted member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, Mr. Webber served as a deacon and was active in both the Master Workers Sunday School Class and the Senior Choir. He worked as a residential contractor for 31 years and, following his retirement, owned and operated a convenience store for 15 years. John enjoyed watching sports--especially cheering on the Atlanta Braves--fishing, traveling, and spending quality time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elisie Glenn (Horace); his brothers, Furman Webber (Louise) and Bill Webber; and his brother-in-law, Roger Crowe.

He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Dorothy; two sons, Eddie Webber (Jill) of Shelby and Scott Webber (Lynda) of Gaffney; his sister, Rachael Crowe; sister-in-law, Donna Webber; two grandchildren, Ashley Hedden (Steven) and Cary Morrow (Tripp); and two great-grandchildren, Rhett and Evie.

The family extends special thanks to VIA Health Partners for their outstanding care, with heartfelt appreciation to Gaye and Cindy.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Via Health Partners of Cleveland Co. (951 Wendover Heights Dr.,Shelby, NC 28150).
