Johnny Farrell Crotts

Rev. Johnny Farrell Crotts, 85, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024 at his home in Shelby, NC.

Born in Cleveland County on September 14, 1938 he was the son of the late Clarence B. Crotts and Ethel Leatherman Crotts. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother C.B. Crotts and sister Elma Hoyle.

A devoted member of Second Baptist Church in Cherryville, Johnny faithfully served as an associate pastor and deacon for many years. As a dedicated pastor, he spent over 40 years ministering in North and South Carolina, passionately serving the Lord, his family and community. He found great joy in camping trips with his family and friends, creating cherished memories together. His legacy of love, faith, and service will be remembered by all who knew him.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Marie Crotts, Ronny Crotts and daughter Karren Hunt (Tommy), grandchildren, Anna Labuanan (Keliko), Sarah Hunt, great grandchildren, Kai, Koa, and Keoni Labuanan. Also left to cherish his memory are his three brothers Robert Crotts (Ann), Paul Crotts (Glenda), Ray Crotts (Donna), Gene Crotts (Maxine), and three sisters Edna Alexander, Polly Lail, Freida Valcore.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM August 7, 2024 at Second Baptist Church in Cherryville with Dr. Matt Thomas and Dr. Mike Staton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall. Burial will follow the service at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston, NC.
