Pastor Johnny Wayne Smith, 85, of Turner Road, Casar, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at his residence.
Born in Cleveland County on December 1, 1934, he was the son of the late Ransom Jerome Smith and Etta Lucy Ramsey Smith. He was retired from Casar Elementary School as a custodian and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Marty Smith and son-in-law, James Wilkie.
Survivors include his wife, Hattie Causby Smith; four daughters, Kay Price and husband, Tim of Casar, Louise Houser and husband, Dale of Casar, Virginia Gaye Wilkie of Casar and Twanda Willis and husband, Wendell of Casar; a brother, Ray Smith of Morganton; two sisters, Martha and Delight; numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing will be required.
The burial will follow the service in the Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
