Joyce Ann Degree Robbs

Mrs. Joyce Ann Degree Robbs, 65, of 501 Milsap Road, Shelby, NC departed this life on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.  She was born on March 28, 1947 in Cleveland County to Frank and Winfred Bridges Degree.

 

Joyce was a member of Good Samaritan Church.  She was employed with One Hour Martinizer Cleaner for over 25 years and later opened her own business, Robbs & Sons Detail Shop.  Known for her sweet disposition, Joyce was not only a mother to her own children but, a mother figure to her children’s friends.  In her spare time, she enjoyed watching sports but, especially watching her grandsons play football and basketball.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Degree, two brothers, Franklin Degree and Charles Degree; a sister, Rachel Degree and a special cousin who was like a brother, Raymond Sharpe.

 

Left to cherish her memory, her husband of 42 years, James Robbs; her mother, Winfred Bridges Degree of Waco, NC; four children, Wyonia Leach, Carl Daniels and Monica Bullard all of Shelby and Eddie Degree of the home; a sister, Eloise Wilson (William) of Waco; a brother, Willie Lee Bridges of Shelby; seven grandchildren, Lakedra Daniels, Michael Leach, Brandon Leach, Nelson Bullard, Jonathan Bullard, Wesley Bullard and Laila Degree; four great-grandchildren, Zirrach Norris, Aaron Watson, Christopher Daniels and Kendall Brooke Lee; her special cousins who were like brothers and sisters, Todd Sharpe, Keith Sharpe, Darryl Sharpe, Raphael Sharpe, Dwight Petty and Adrienne Smith all of Shelby; two sisters-in-law, Della Robbs and Shelia Simpson; three brothers-in-law, Carl Robbs, John Robbs Virgil Robbs; best friends, Larry and Flora Smith; honorary god-daughter, Cheryl McDowell and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Good Samaritan Baptist Church with Rev. James E. Coleman officiating.  Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 PM at the church on Thursday.  Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloes.net.  Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
