Joyce Taylor Earl, 77, of Cherryville, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Hospice at Wendover, Shelby.

Born in Lincoln County, on July 21, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Thomas Taylor and Jean Bagwell Taylor. She graduated from Polkville High School in 1963 and then graduated from Isothermal with her LPN. She would work for various nursing homes and retired from Carolina Care. She was a member of Waco Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Taylor and Ed Taylor; sister, Geneva Scruggs and, sister-in-law, Peggy Taylor, and brother-in-law, JB Carpenter.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Larry Franklin Earl; son, Darin Earl and wife Danyelle of Belwood; daughter, Tammra White and husband Thomas of Shelby; brother, David Taylor of Oak Island; four sisters, Helen Morris and husband Wayne of Casar, Dot Crotts and husband Johnny of Shelby, Sue Jones and husband Bill of Gaffney and Pat Carpenter of Kings Mountain; sister-in-law, Grace Taylor of Catawba; four grandchildren, Maggie Earl, Macey Earl, Taylor Dalton, and Melody Jean Dalton and a great grandson, Jack Dalton.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home. at other times the family will be at the home of Darin and Danyelle Earl, 619 Carpenters Grove Church Road, Lawndale, NC 28090.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Waco Baptist Church with the Dr. Harold E. Fite and Rev. Bill Jones officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery.
