Judy Turner, age 76, of Rutherfordton, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby.

Judy was born Friday, September 5, 1947 in Pinellas County, Florida to the late Harley A. Touchton and Kathleen Young Touchton. She was the owner and operator of J & J Cartage Trucking Company for thirty-five years and worked in home health care for Universal Home Health for a decade. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spindale where she taught Sunday School. Judy loved riding motorcycles, camping and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-two years, Fred Turner; son, Tony Lutes; brothers, Buddy Touchton, Herman Touchton, Lester Touchton, Henry Touchton; sisters, Mary Langford, Martha Applewhite and Alice O'Quinn.

Those left to treasure her memory include her brother, Calvin Touchton of Greenville, Florida; nephews, Vance Touchton of Anderson, SC, Keith Touchton of Ponce De Leon, Florida and niece, Rachel Cohea of Northern Indiana among many other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Marilyn Rhom of Spindale and Pat Wagner (Dennis) of Florida and a brother-in-law, Harry Turner (Yoke) of Illinois.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 11th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Vance Touchton officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
