Junie Catherine Newton Barrett, 59, of Casar, passed away at Atrium Health Cleveland, Shelby on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

She was born in Silver Springs, MD and was a daughter of Edna Virginia Green and the late John Reed Newton. She was employed with Cleveland County Schools and a member of Carpenters Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a brother John Newton

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of thirty years, Danny Barrett; son, Colton Barrett and his girlfriend Taylor White; daughter, Taylor Barrett; two stepsons, Shane Barrett and wife Kelly and Dusty Barrett and wife Paige; five step-grandchildren, Abby Greene, Khloe Hall, Brookelann Barrett, Bryson Downs, and Ellie Barrett; and a special friend Angie Price.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Carpenters Grove Baptist Church fellowship hall.

The funeral service will be Sunday at 3:00 PM at Carpenters Grove Baptist Church with the Pastor Luke Beam and Rev. Jerry Welch officiating. Internment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family has requested that everyone respect their request and allow them to have their privacy during this time of loss until the day of the funeral service.
